This match is talked about A LOT. I alway hear about how NYX Atlantic is a dupe to MAC Freshwater. We will soon see how true this is!

NO, NO, NO! NOT a DUPE! I don't need to explain why, you can so SEE it! I do like NYX Atlanti better on my warmer skin tone than MAC Freshwater. BOTH are amazing blues, just NOT the same.

New Physians Formula Happy Booster Blush in WARM

Oh How I love these blushes!!!!! I have the the Pink and Bronzing Happy Booster blush and when I saw this one in warm at Rite Aid I HAD to have it, even though it was not on sale.
It a mix of brown, peach, and pink...oh what a gorgeous color combition and knew I loved the other two that I could not go wrong with this one.

SMASHBOX Photo Op Mega Palette Swatches and Review

I got this palette from my dad and stepmother for Christmas. I absolutely love it and perfect for everyday use, travel or just as a carry along, if you are like me and can not go any where with out touch up makeup, due to the "just in case anything happens factor"

This pallet is only available on QVC here and retails for $93, thankful it was a gift for me, but I believe it is well worth price, considering the quality and amount and variety of makeup you receive in the palette.

The palette includes:

REVIEW on EYESHADOWS: All these swatches were takes on bare skin with no primer, The color selection in this palette is really great and I like the variety of darks, lights, shimmers and mattes. The shimmers and dark colors have really great color payoff and the mattes come off a bit chalky without the primer. When I use my trusty UDPP in eden, every single color in this palette pop and the mattes look amazing.

Cream Eyeliners: Ivy, Gilt, Picasso, Lava, Midnight Purple, Image, Midnight brown Cavier

REVIEW: These are really great as an eyeliner, but as a base they crease. I would recommend ONLY putting this on lid if you going to use these as a base and do not go pass the crease at all. Even with a premier they crease.

Brow Tech Powders: Blonde, Taupe, Auburn, Brunette

REVIEW: No complaints here. Great color selection and the Brunette matches my eyebrows great and there is a brow wax included to set the powder and keep your eyebrows in tact.

BLUSH: Posy Pink, Warm Apricot

REVIEW: LOVE LOVE LOVE these two blushes. The texture, color, and color payoff is amazing.

SOFT LIGHTS: Lens, Prism, Shimmer

REVIEW: These are highlighter and I love them also. The color select and texture is amazing.

LIPGLOSSES: Buff, Bitten, Guava, Mulberry

REVIEW: These are ok, they are very sheer and not very long wearing at all.

OVERALL: AMAZING palette! I love the functionality of it and the variety. However, the mattes and lip glosses are the down fall of the palette. If you enjoy having all your makeup with you at all time and are always being asked to do your friends makeup where ever you (like I am!) Then this palette is a goldmine for you!

Hello ladies! This is a new start for me and I am really starting to get better. A lot of positive changes are coming my way and am starting to feel "myself" again. It has taken a long time time and I still not 100% there, but I am really starting to feel better. I wanted to share my news years eve look with you all (better late than never right?) lol

For the look I used my Christmas Gift that my dad got me, The Smash box Photo Op Mega Palette, which I am absolutly in LOVE with!!!

Here is a quick pic of it and I working on getting swatches of it up for you for you very soon.

It is such an amazing pallete and it perfect for travel or even a palette to to carry with you for touch ups. LOL yes, I do like to a variety of makeup on me at all times!! You MUST see what I bring with in my purse for "JUST IN CASE" purposes...lol

I got a new JOB!!!

YUP! Everything is slowly coming back together for me. Living on my own is a lot harder than I thought (financially at least). I had left my bank job a while back to focus on school, but I also had no idea I would be going through a break up 8 months later. Supporting myself on a C.N.A salary has been tough especially when I know I can have a better paying job with my BS in Finance. So I started looking again, I got a job as a Business Bank Underwriter!! I am so excited. My job is approving or declining business loans based on tax returns and business statements. I am so happy that things are starting to fall back into place for me. I knew I could do it. I am not going to lie, it has not always been easy and I have been sad more days than happy in the past, but things are getting easier by the day. I have amazing friends who have been supporting me and things are finally starting to look up :)

The EVE PEARL HD face kit!! I soo HAD too! I was running out of my EVE PEARL salmon concealer, (which I love and is my HG under eye concealer), and I saw that they had this kit (below) for a pretty good price AND I have not bought makeup in a while, so I said, WHY THE HELL NOT! LOL

I bought it in the color MED and the kit includes:

I promise you all I will start blogging more regularly soon, I finally feel settled in my new apartment and life. AND I got a tattoo! With all the things that have happened in my life, I finally knew and felt like I needed this. I tattooed the word FAIT wrapped in angel wings on my wrist, to remind me that everything that happens in life, happens for a reason and is meant to be, it is your fait. The angel wings symbolize freedom because for once in a very long time I feel like I am free to be who I really am. So here it is, my first tattoo.

It honestly did not hurt and I really did like the feeling of it...it hurt the most closer to my hand, like at the bottom of the angle wings, but it was not that bad at all..lol... I am sooo getting more and I already have in mind what I want and I will share that with you in another post.

AND I got a box at my door, which made me sooooo happy to see. The contents of that box will be in tomorrows post!! yipee!!!

Hello Ladies! I am so sorry I left you all. I missed you all so much. I was going through a very tough time in my life and now things are starting to get back to normal and I finally feel like I have some time to do what I love.

I really consider all my followers like my best friends. I have amazing people that I have hooked up with through this blog and I know some of my followers have been worried about where I have been and what I have been up to, so this post is explaining all that.

Since I was 16 I had the same boyfriend, I am now 27 years old. We have been together for 11 years, we bought a condo together and created a home. For the past few years, he has been expressing to me how he feels like he has lost his individuality with me and how he would like some space away from me and the relationship from time to time. That was hard for me to grasp because we always did everything together but being with him was more important to me, so I tried to adapt to what he wanted while still being in a relationship. Every year after that, he would grow more and more distance from me, telling people I was his room mate or best friend and not claiming me as his woman. This upset me A LOT, he told me not to worry about it because he just does not like "labels" and we know we are together and what we are. I still felt I did not deserve that, but I went along with it, again for the sake of the relationship. He never wanted to get married or have kids, but for some reason I thought he would grow out of that or that I would be enough for him to finally want it. Yes, he did tell me he did not want marriage or kids, but honestly when we got together, I didn't either.

In December of 2011, I became VERY depressed from the stress of school and quitting my bank job (which I got due to BS in Finance) and down grading back to the nursing home (which I made less at) because my bank job would no longer work with school schedule. I took the spring semester off from school to focus a bit on me and refocus on my life. I also went on depression medication, which helped me a lot. I started losing weight due to the medication I was on and I was not eating as much due to feeling depressed. At the same time I was focusing on what I loved the most, make up and my blog. My make up skills were improving and I was branching myself into dying my hair and highlighting (which you know if you have been following my blog for a while) These hobbies were really making me feel better and losing the weight really helped too, so I was slowly starting to feel better. My boyfriend was taking me feeling better as I was cheating on him or that something weird was going on. It became a huge argument. After I reassured him I was not cheating on him, he believed me and said "good, well now I guess I can tell you I made an appointment to get a vasectomy" I was floored! A WHAT! I do want kids and he knew that I was thinking about it. We argued about this for days.

A few weeks after that incident, I was upset because he had not touched me in about two weeks. I asked him why and we got into a very serious conversation about how he is no longer in love with me. He loves me like family and he needs a break from me to find out who he is without me and that he thought it was good idea if I did the same thing because we have been together for so long. I asked if that meant we are broken up and he said YES, but he would to continue to be friends with me. Now this is where it is complicated, I am a VERY A or B type person and I ALWAYS told him if we ever broke up, I would never be his friend and once we are done, we are DONE, I do not go back and I mean that.

I was devastated that we broke up, I spent weeks crying and not eating (I lost 18 pounds in a month) and I wanted to keep my home because I loved my condo. He told me I could stay there and I tried but he was to involved in what I was doing and where I was going. How was I suppose to move on, when he is still trying to act like we are still together? So I left and stayed with my best friend's mom, till the apartment I found was ready. I have to say I have the most AMAZING friends, they are truly my family and helped me move out of the condo, to a storage lot and then to my apartment. They helped me move TWICE! No one likes moving and I appreciate them so much for helping me through this hard time. I honestly do not know if I would as level headed as I am right now if it were not for them.

I am now living on my own, with my own apartment and I now feel amazing. I am very happy and back on my feet. I still need to organize my makeup and I can not wait to show you all a tour of my lil place. I am proud of myself. I had been through hell and back with this situation, but I have met amazing people in the process and I have found out what a strong person I really am.

I already have some makeup pics to post for you all soon. I just bought the UD 15th anniversary palette and the MAC MSF in semi precious pearl..lol...I know I am so behind on the makeup collections because I did not have the internet for about 2 months or so, BUT I did pick up MAC Asian Lilly Flower which I was told was new!! YAY me..I'm getting back into it..lol

That is a VERY brief summary of what went on. I know this is only my side and I am sure I am at fault for many things in the relationship as well. I am not trying to bash my EX in any way shape or form. I honestly wish him the best in life and I want him to be happy like I am right now

SIMPLE SIMPLE WORK LOOK

I work at a nursing home taking care of Alzheimer residents, so my job is not very glamourous..lol..BUT I am VERY ok with that. When I go to work, my makeup is usually quite simple, I still like to create different color combo's and the girls at work always like my makeup even when I think it is no big deal. I will try to post more of my work looks in the future, because I try to keep them simple and hopefully it help give you girls ideas in simple looks. :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME and I DYED my HAIR RED RED..HOW DID I DO IT?

So today is my birthday..yipee! I hope it will be the start of some good in my life. I am now 27 and I need to start making some changes in my life. My first change is finally getting my hair red!!

When I first dyed the bottom half of my hair red (see post here), I bleached my dyed black hair twice for 40 min and it only lifted it a little bit, so the red was a nice deep dark red, which I actually really liked, but would have like it just a tad brighter.

See the deep dark red? Nice huh?

The shade is MANIC PANIC VAMPIRE RED and it is a semi-permanent. So after about a month and half of the dye in my hair, it was starting to wash out and you can barely see the red anymore. That's when I decided it was time for a touch up. Instead of bleaching my hair this time, I thought I would try something different. I used Loreal Effasol Color Remover from Sally's.

I decided to try it because of what it claims to do:

Leaves hair beautifully conditioned and ready for recoloring
Removes color build-up and muddy-looking tints
Does not restore hair to natural color, it removes the tint
Leaves hair in lightened state
Can be used with water or developer

L'Oreal Effasol Color remover creates a gentle foaming bath that washes away permanent hair color. Can be used with water or developer.

The description made it sound perfect for lifting the old, faded red, restoring my hair and making it ready for the new dye.

I took the color remover and mixed 1 oz of the powder with 1 oz of 20 volume clear developer (you can use water also, but I wanted to use developer since my hair is dyed black and now red, so I really wanted a good lift) in a mixing bowl.

Then with no fancy technique at all (just wearing gloves), I slapped the mixture into the bottom half of my hair and made sure I coated every strand with the color remover mixture. I let it sit in my hair for a 30 min, washed it out, dried it and this is how it came out:

TA DA!!

It is far from perfect, but it is pretty darn light, considering how dark red it was before!! That worked soooooooo much better than the bleach, it was WAY easier, and it didn't smell or make my head itch! :D

This Loreal Effasol Color Remover is a keeper in my book. I will be buying more for sure!

Now, it was time to put in the MANIC PANIC vampire red. I could not wait to see the results! Again, I just took the dye straight from the jar (with gloves on) and just slapped it into my hair, making sure I coated every strand with the red dye. I let that dye sit in my hair for about 30 mins, washed it out and..

VOILA!!

DARK BRIGHT RED HAIR!! luv it!! hehehe I was proud of myself..I never thought I could achieve this look because I have such dark hair. I always thought a hair stylist would have to do it, but I did it myself and I sooo luv it!!

After I dyed my hair, I went out with a few friends and we had a good time just hanging out :)

MAC SURF BABY- Tiny baby HAUL

YUP! I did pick up a few things. I actually went to the store to check out the collection, which is something I rarely do. I knew I wanted Hibiscus Lipstick, but the rest of the collection I was kinda EH...on. SO I swatched EVERYTHING. I was totally unimpressed with the cheek powder. YES, it is gorgeous looking and the color is nice, BUT I just didn't feel it was worth my $28, I knew I would only use it once or twice and never re-visit it, so I passed. I was also unimpressed on the pigmentation of Blue Noon Powerpoint Eye Pencil, which was something I thought I wanted and the rest of the collection just didn't spark my interest at all.

This is what I got:

Gilded White Powerpoint Eye Pencil- Gorgeous! This is so much prettier than I thought and looks amazing in the inner corner of the eyes. It glides on to the waterline and inner corner with ease. No tugging at all

Hibiscus Lipstick-This is a creme sheen finish and is very pigmented. It feels really nice on the lips and the color is just as pretty as I thought it would be. It is like an orange/coral kinda color, I don't own anything like this.

My Favorite Summer Lipsticks

Summer is right a round the corner and I can not wait for the warm weather!! These are a list of my favorite summer lipsticks. Let me know what you think and if you have any more to add to the list!!

Rimmel Crush-This is the perfect everyday peach lipstick. It goes with almost every type of look and it less than $6!

Inglot 401 Matte- This matte orange lipstick is gorgeous and super long lasting. It last 5-6, through eating and drinking too. Gotta love that!

MUFE 38- This is a new fav for me. It is a gorgeous pinkie/coral color and is perfect for almost any look.

NYX Power- LOVE! LOVE! this color. I really love to wear it with any pink or purple eye look. It is honestly one of my favorite purple lipsticks.

MAC Morange- PERFECT orange lipstick for the summer. The color is super vibrant and pigmented and the formula is very moisturizing and long lasting

Revlon Coral- This is a really great drugstore alternative for a really great orange lipstick. The formula is amazing and the color is very pigmented all for $10 or less.

MAC Brave New Bronze- I really did not want to throw in a LE product on the this list but this is seriously my favorite lipstick to wear in the summer with a bronzy eye and cheek look. It also looks amazing with a tan. If you missed out on this color, Wet n Wild Mega Last Lipstick 902 C is an EXACT dupe, which you can check out HERE.

MAC Speed dial- This is just an amazing pink lipstick, with out being in your face bright. The formula and color is really great.

MAC GAGA 2- I love to wear nude lips in the summer with a smokey bronze eye. GAGA 2 is really the perfect nude for my skin tone.

MAC Impassioned- PERFECT coral lipstick and my an absolute MUST HAVE for the summer.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetic (OCC) Lip Tar in Trollop- Really beautiful coral/pink lip tar. The pigmentation is amazing. I also love that it wears like a lip gloss, but look like a lipstick on the lips.

I Highlighted my Sister's HAIR and she finally let me show her FACE! :D

This was my first time EVER highlighting ANYONE's hair. My sister lets me try everything on her, which is so nice of her! :D I bought all my supplies at Sally Beauty Store, which consisted of the dye, developer, mixing bowel, hair coloring brush, rat tail comb and foil.

My sister wanted very natural looking highlights, that were very thin. I was worried I would not get them thin enough for her liking, BUT she has so much hair the by the time I was done with one section of hair, I got the hang of to make them really thin.

This WHOLE process took me about 3 hours. I swear I have no idea how hairdressers do it. BIG UPS to you if you are a hairdresser because that was A LOT of standing.

I would have done a step-by-step tutorial show you all how I did the highlight, but since this was my first time and I really did not know what I was doing, I thought it just would not be right. BUT next time I do it, I'll do the tutorial.

Milani Baked Eyeshadow in Blackout Review and Swatches

This is the Milani Baked Eyeshadow in #02 Blackout. It was $6.99 at CVS, but I had $5 ECB coupon, so I got the eyeshadow for $2.99 :D

It has a dip in it already because the BEST way to apply this shadow it to break it a bit with the end handle of your brush. That is how you get the BEST color payoff. I also experienced no fall out at all when I applied this to my eyes. I was really surprised by the texture and smoothness of the shadow, especially from a drugstore brand.

Taylor Swift Inspired LOOK

I am now starting to feel more confident in my makeup skills, so I am going to start doing some celebrities inspired looks. My first celebrity inspired look is Taylor Swift. I always loved how simple and elegant YET stunning her makeup is. I encouraged Sonja from The Beautiful Life of A Girl Next Door Blog to a Taylor Swift look and hers came out sooo beautiful.

For this look, I used no particular picture. I just tried to remember what her makeup looks like when she has red lips, and I really love the picture I have of her on the side of my blog, so that was in my mind too.

Swatch: LOOK at those sparkles and the glitter in this is VERY fine. You never feel it on your lids, NEVER!

MUFE AQUA LINER #10 Iridescent Red Review and LOOK

LOV LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS Liner!! Oh my FREAKIN goodness!! It is sooo good! This price TRULEY justifies the product with this one, they are $23 each for .058 oz. The color selection is AMAZING, the felt tip makes the product SUPER easy to apply, and the liner last all day and night, YES I slept in it after I washed my face to to test it out!!

On top of everything, the color are SUPER pigmented too! I bought #10 Iridescent Red and #14 Diamond Multicolor Black (which is so stunning to look at, review and swatches soon on that, don't worry :P)

INGLOT Lipstick SWATCHES and REVIEW

I bought a few INGLOT lipsticks just to try them out and I like them a lot!

They are $12 for .16 oz and the matte lip pencil is $11 for .16 oz

Inglot Lipstick Finishes are:

Matte
Cream
Pearl
Slim Gel Lipstick
Matte AMC Lip Pencil

They also sell lip paint, which seem to be like liquid lipstick, lip gloss and lip liners too.

I bought every finish EXCEPT for the pearl finish.

The Matte finish is waxy to apply and not moisturizing at all BUT VERY long lasting. Last about 4-5 hours on my lips even when I apply chapstick on top of the color. They have a huge color selection for matte lipsticks, which is very nice. Even though the lipstick feels waxy at first, that feeling does go away. I really like these mattes.

The Cream finish applies like butter and it very moisturizing! I love this finish and how it feels on the lips. They last about 2 hours or so on me

The Slim Gel Lipstick reminds me of MACs Sheen Supreme Lipstick (even though I have never owned one). They apply very easy onto the lips, have a hint of color and are VERY moisturizing on the lips. MACs cost $14.50, INGLOTs are $12.00, much better deal! These last about 1-2 hours on me.

The Matte Collection AMC Lip Pencil are VERY nice. They remind me of the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil (although, again I have never tried them so I can not compair). The apply on to the lips nicely and feel a dry on the lips, BUT that is nothing some chapstick can not finish. These are VERY long lasting as well, with 4-5 hours of wear on me. The NARS matte velet are $24, INGLOT is $11. So, try these first, if you never tried a matte pencil lipstick.

I hope these swatches and review has helped you. I really like INGLOTs lipsticks and prices. MAC Summer Shower and NYX Power-Purple LOTD :D

I was talking with CydonianMU on Twitter ( as I do almost everday..lol..luv this girl!) from Turtle beauty and she was asking me what I thought of NYX Power and how it would look on her. We are both purple lipstick lovers and I told her I LOVE NYX Power and you know what..I'll do a look with it to show you how it looks!

I really like the extra shine and slight color MAC Summer Shower gives NYX Power. It is subtle, but very pretty. I also like to mix Summer Shower with GAGA 1 and Angel too.

All the hype around Ever Hip has reminded me to pull it out and give it another go! I sooo forgot how much I love this lipstick. I bought Ever Hip last year with the Liberty of London Collection and I barely wore it when I got it. I thought it was to bright for me when I got! HA! Now I think it is so pretty and soft, the perfect soft coral lippie for the summer.

Obessive Compulsive Cosmetics (OCC) LIP TAR-Review and LIP SWATCHES

I bought these when I went to the IMATS in NY and I am ever so happy that I did. These HIGHLY raved about lip tars are VERY pigmented and a little goes a VERY long way.

Look: These look amazing on the lips. High shine and very pigmented

Feel: When first applied to the lips, the lip tars feel VERY moisturizing and there is slight tingling feeling due to the peppermint oil in the lip tars, however I found that after about an hour of wear, my lips start to feel quite dry, even though they do not look dry.

Texture: These glide on the lips very easily. I recommend using a lip brush with these at first until you get use to how much to really use because they are so silky-smooth and pigmented. Once you get use to how much to put on your lips, I think a lip brush is NOT a complete necessity

Smell: A VERY slight peppermint smell. It is not overwhelming and it does not linger at all. It is actually a very refreshing smell IMO.

Longevity: IMO, this is the worst part about these lip tars. They only last about 2 hours on me. I thought they were suppose to last longer, however I did notice that if I put a bit more of the lip tar on my lips, it does last longer (maybe 3 hours) BUT when I do that, my lips feel a bit heavy at first. I found that to increase the wear of these lip tars, I have been layering them on top of a complimenting lip stick, and the combo last for hours!! This is my favorite way to wear them. I know these were created to be worn alone and not as a lip gloss per say, BUT I like a less glossy look most of the time so this is perfect for me :D

I had a absolute blast with my best friend in NY! I don't get see her that much, so we always do a lot when we are together! oh AND boy do I have a story to tell you about the MAC warehouse sale!

SO YEAH..this is a long post, set aside a good 5 min if you want to read the problem we had at the warehouse sale..what a doozey!! lol

So I will start with my LOTD

THE ISSUE WITH THE MAC WAREHOUSE SALE

Then we headed off! We left at 7:00 am and the warehouse opened at 8:00 am, but I read that there are always lines and to get there early. My best friend has a a little boy who is 3 years old. She had arranged to get a babysitter for him, but something happened to the babysitter last minute, so we had to take him with us.

My friend felt sooo bad about, but I soooo did not mind, but I know she probably wanted a day kid free.

So we get to warehouse and start to wait in line, witch is all the way out the door when we got there. The security guard there tell us that the baby can not go in the warehouse. We both were like, OK, but can he wait in line with us and then we can swap him off with each when we get in. He said nodded ok.
Once we got in, there were two other lines. One for our tickets and then one to get into the actual sale.

So before we even gave our tickets in, I asked the security who was accepting the tickets about the baby and to make sure it was ok if one of us went in and the other watched the baby and swapped off like that. He said, oh yeah, no problem, JUST make sure he does not go into the sale. He took our tickets and then we waited in the line to get in. Once we got up to the door, a manager approached us and said, WHOA, the baby can not be in here at all, not even to wait in line. I said, well I spoke to two security guards prior to this, just to avoid a problem like this and they said it was no problem. RIGHT AFTER I SAID THAT, the original security guard I spoke to outside, came up to me, pointed HIS FINGER AT ME and said, YOUR A LIAR! I told you he could not come in!! WHOA WHOA..do not come up to me like that! I was shocked!! You best believe I told him off! I said, DO NOT CALL ME A LIAR, YOU SAW US WAITING IN THE LINE THE WHOLE TIME!! We told you what our plan was and you nodded. HOW DARE YOU CALL ME A LIAR! At that point, my friend was like ok, I'll just wait in the car with him. I was like, oh no, you are going in to this, you waited in line with me and that is NOT RIGHT! So I talked to the manager and he agreed to let her right in after I was done and I then I could watch the baby in the car while she shopped. LIKE REALLY! OMG! What an experience that was! When she left, the women around us could believe how they acted and said they completely understand what it is like when you can not get child care because they are parents themselves and that they handled it so wrong. They were so worried about if they were going to let my friend back in. I explained to them that they would, BUT the manager overheard all that too and jumped in..all nice of course..and said, oh no, she is coming back, we just don't want the baby to get hurt..blah, blah, blah...I get it! I don't want the baby hurt either and that is why we were NOT going to let him into the sale! URGH! That experience was EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING!! YOU HAVE NO IDEA! but it all worked out and we both got to go in...so ON TO THE HAUL!!

I got the DKNY Red Delicious perfume and lotion set for $30, I am King Set for my boyfriend for $30, three Bobbie Brown Lip pencils + sharpener for $30 and the MAC Eye set for $20

Bobbie Brow Lip Crayon- Amazing formula- Naked Pink, Pink Raspberry, Sugar Blush

MAC Eye set- Violet Pigment, Micoviolent Fluidline, Zoomlash sample, small eyeliner brush and the cosmetic bag. I gave the mascara, bag and brush to my friend..I so do not need any more brushes or mascaras..lol

The swatches are (top to bottom) Macroviolet fluidline, Violet pigment, and then Violet pigment on to of Macroviolet fluidline (I think this combo is so pretty!)

I also grabbed the GRAB BAG at the end of the warehouse. It was $60, but it had a ton of full sized products, so I thought it would be fun to see what was in it. When I got to the register, they ended up only charging me $20 for it! I was so happy!! This is what came in the grab bag.

So when we got back to her house I gave her all the Estee Lauder eye shadows, the MAC eyeshadow, and 3 out of the 5 MAC glosses. I have so many lip glosses and eyeshadow AND got such an amazing deal on the grab bag that I had no problems giving her that stuff. She is trying to build up her own collection, and I am more than happy to help her do that!!

MY HAIR is RED now and a LOTD inspired by my dress

Well, my hair is kinda red. If you have been following me on twitter, you know that last week I tried (and failed miserably) at dying the bottom half of my hair red. My hair is naturally very dark and I dye it black due to some grays that I get.

So last week when I bleached my hair first, I let the bleach sit for an hour and it did NOTHING! So this week, when I bleached my hair, I put strands of my hair in foil and let it sit for an hour again. It worked better this time, BUT not perfectly. Some strands really lightened up and others never seemed like there was bleach on them at all!! I have no idea how or why that happened, but it is ok..I actually like it!

OH well..I am not a hair dresser, it is not perfection
The red in my hair is Manic Panic Vampire Red and I bought all my hair supplies and dye at Sally's Beauty Supply Store. It is a semi permanent dye and I let it sit in my hair for about 4 hours to get this color.

Here it is!

Not bad right! Not perfect either. I REALLY love this color RED, it is what I always wanted. It is not bright in your face, it is pretty subtle and dark deep red.

I cut my sister's hair..OMG..YIKES!

YUP! My sister asked me to trim her hair even though I have NEVER cut hair before, pretty bold of her huh? She said it was a recession and she had to cut back on things..lol..she is a trip.

Anyways, I was up for the challenge and I watched a TON of youtube tutorials and decided that this one from Rosebud143 was the best one at explaining how to do it

In less than 6 minutes, she explained it perfectly! So I ran out and got some supplies from Sally's Beauty Supplies.

- A thinning razor comb

- Hair cutting scissors

- Rat tail comb

- Elastics

- Clips

I told my sister to wash her hair and to come into my room when she was ready. I was sooooooooooooooooooooo SUPER NERVOUS to make the first cut. I think I combed her hair for like 10 min till my sister finally said "JUST DO IT ALREADY!" lol..so I did! Once the first cut once made, I was on a roll. My sister has a lot of hair, so the cut took me about an hour.

I basically cut the hair in sections, clipping up the pieces to separate them from the hair I was cutting and the hair I was about to cut and I tied back the pieces I already cut in the elastics.

I also cut the hair on an angle like the youtube video instructed. She already had layers, so it was easy to follow her hair. I cut about a half an inch off or so of her hair.

My new hair cut!

I got my hair cut on Monday and I really love it! I have beem wanting my hair to be cut like this for so long and not one hair dresser has got it right until now!

Now my next project for my hair is to dye the bottom half of my hair manic panic vampire red. I tried to do it Wed. but failed at it. The bleach did nothing, but I did not put seperate strands in foil, I just slapped the bleach in the bottom half of my hair and it did nothing to my hair. So I am going to try it again sometime next week, but this time I will use foil.
